A Conversation with an Executive Trauma Specialist for Mental Health Awareness Month

It is likely that the vast majority of your employees are experiencing some sort of trauma brought on by current life events.

The past few years have presented many potential stressors to America's workforce, which has caused employers to place a greater focus on promoting mental health in the workplace. In addition to being the right thing to do, this also makes good business sense: research by Oxford University has shown that that happy workers are 13% more productive, and a 2022 poll by the American Psychiatric Association found that 8 in 10 respondents will be looking for employers that prioritize mental health during their next job search.

In this episode of Friends With Employee Benefits, Principal & Managing Consultant Jeff Cross sits down with Executive Trauma Coach Adrienne Rouan for a candid conversation about how stress and trauma can manifest itself in the workplace, how to prevent divisiveness between colleagues at work, and what we can do during Mental Health Awareness month to better support the wellbeing of our employees.
