Following increases in employer reporting related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the resulting cost burden on employers, 10 employer groups have made the decision to join forces to advocate for more favorable healthcare and benefits policies.
The group, Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage (P4ESC) will focus on promoting legislative and regulatory amendments to the ACA. Annette Bechtold, OneDigital SVP of Regulatory Affairs and Reform Initiatives, agrees that the level of reporting enforced by the ACA often consumes a significant portion of her client’s time and resources that could be spent on extending coverage for employees. She expands further in the article, “New Employer Coalition Aims to Ease Reporting Requirements” by Employee Benefit Adviser.
Employer-sponsored plans far exceed any other benefits program in the marketplace. Next in line is Medicaid and Medicare, but the employer-sponsored market covers the vast majority.
