This month there is a special focus on women and heart disease sponsored by the American Heart Association–the Go Red for Women campaign. Heart disease is the nation’s number one killer and it affects one in three women. With that prevalence it is likely that you may have a loved one of friend that has been touched by heart disease.
There is so much misinformation out there about women and heart disease that it is important to know the facts. The Go Red for Women campaign is packed with information, advocacy tips, research updates, etc. Check out the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women website for more information.
It is important to get involved and spread the word! There are a number of things that can be done on a personal and/or community level to spread awareness about Heart Disease.
