OneDigital Hartford Hosts 30th Seminar Of The Year, Customizing The Attendee Experience At Every Step

This morning, OneDigital’s Workforce Health Consultant Nicole Consiglio kicked off a seminar titled “The ACA and the Final Rules on Employment Based Wellness Programs” in the Hartford office. Today’s event marked the 30th educational seminar the Hartford team has hosted in 2013, the majority of which have taken place onsite. Including trade shows and sponsorship events, the number of events with a OneDigital presence is approaching 50 for the year.

Events, particularly those held in the OneDigital Hartford office are a key part of the organization’s strategic plan to retain clients and bring new employers into the fold. “Our onsite events deliver enormous impact, especially as part of the sales process,” says OneDigital Hartford Principal Jeff Worley. “Creating reasons for prospects to come in to the office, feel the vibe, meet our folks—it ends in an opportunity almost every time.”

Seminars held onsite are staged in two places—both in the spacious café and in the actual seminar room down the hall. Seminar mornings are a great example of the “all hands on deck” culture at OneDigital in which attendees are welcomed by team members, offered tours of the office and escorted to the café for breakfast. Office Manager Lisa Hathaway sets up a healthy breakfast during which attendees can mingle with their peers and their consultants and get a feel for the OneDigital culture before heading to the seminar room for the actual presentation. Each moment of the attendee experience prior to the seminar is designed to encourage discussion between team members, no matter their role—and raving fans and prospective clients alike.

The subject matter for 2013 has been focused primarily on Health Care Reform, with nearly half of the seminars dedicated to Pay or Play. Pia Brown, Senior Consultant at OneDigital Hartford has led the lion’s share of the Pay or Play seminars and says, “Employers are truly concerned about how Health Care Reform is going to affect their business. We are working hard to proactively guide our seminar attendees to a place where they are more comfortable about how they will plan for and manage the challenges that the Affordable Care Act presents.”

In addition to providing an important educational component, OneDigital seminars are carefully designed to deliver a memorable and customized experience for seminar attendees. Once an individual registers for an event they will receive a survey, asking them what they hope to learn from the seminar, and what might be their most pressing challenge with regard to the topic at hand. In addition, OneDigital Hartford utilizes an IML Click system with which attendees can be polled throughout the presentation. Both the surveys and the use of the IML Click system allow the Hartford team members to develop content that specifically addresses an attendee’s needs.

IML Clickers are attached to attendee nametags with Ovation lanyards to assist in creating a customized experience.

In today’s seminar attendees learned how the recently released Affordable Care Act Final Rules increase wellness incentive amounts from 20% to 30% of the cost of coverage. Seminar attendees were treated with a raffle for wellness bags complete with cookbooks, water bottles and resistance bands, and with a little help from Samantha Bontrager in the Atlanta office, stress ball apples, pedometers and pens.

Tomorrow attendees will receive a post-event satisfaction survey via email, and to date, these surveys have indicated a nearly 100% satisfaction rate. The  OneDigital Hartford team will continue to strive for 100% satisfaction as they close out the events for 2013 with their last sessions of the year—a  Health Care Reform presentation for c-suite executives and a Digital Benefits Marketplace seminar, both in November.
