Soon after graduating from college, I began interviewing for several different accounting and finance related positions. That’s when I experienced my moment of panic – I began to fear that I would be stuck in an unfulfilling job where I was unable to interact with others.
My interview at OneDigital Hartford went something like this: I was first greeted by the receptionist, Jeanne, who approached me as though I was an old friend. Once I was retrieved from the waiting room, I passed a wall containing a lineup of employee photographs. Each photo included a blurb describing what makes them unique. I was taken to an orange conference room with wall signs that highlighted their specialties, values and culture.
What initially intrigued me about OneDigital was that the company created such an innovative and personalized twist on insurance benefits. For the first time during the post-grad interview process, I felt as though this was a company where I would fit in. It was evident that at OneDigital, you were not just a number. Every employee matters. I saw a company for the people behind it, not the corporate image that I typically would associate with a benefits broker. Still today, my favorite thing about coming to work is that I feel that every team member, including myself, is a valued part of a cutting edge, progressive team and family.
I joined the OneDigital team at an interesting time – a point where most teams began preparing for the January 1st renewals. At the time, I didn’t even know exactly what that meant, but it seemed stressful. However, when I began my training, I soon learned that no one in the office is above stepping in and doing whatever it takes to help a fellow employee succeed. Whether it was printing enrollment guides, preparing packets of documents necessary for a meeting, or helping to prepare marketing exhibits for a client in a time crunch, someone was always there willing to step in and get the job done. The support each employee showed for one another was a true reflection of the teamwork-driven culture at OneDigital, and it is loudly expressed that every individual is appreciated.
My experience at OneDigital so far has been above and beyond what I expected. Members of the OneDigital Hartford family planned a number of fun-filled, team bonding events which brightened everyone’s spirits during the holiday season and truly brought the team together. Little things like this are the reason it is such a joy to come to work. I cannot wait to see what the New Year has in store for our OneDigital family!
