Resources for Boston Small Businesses

In addition to federal assistance through the CARES Act, the City of Boston and the Commonwealth have loans and grants available to employers.

The City of Boston began accepting applications for small business relief grants on Monday, April 6, 2020. There will be a limited number of grants and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The criteria for the loans are:

  • “Fewer than thirty-five (35) employees;
  • Less than $1,500,000 in annual revenue, and
  • Registered with, in good standing with, and operating in the City of Boston (excluding chain or corporate franchises).”

The loan grant amount is broken down by employer size (assessed by number of employees and revenue) and ranges from $2,500 to $10,000 in relief grants.
