Jamie Tromba is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR/SHRM-SCP) with experience directing multiple facets of human resources within professional service firms. Jamie possesses a strong knowledge of talent, recruitment and retention strategies, employment law, benefits plans, HR policy and procedures, training design and implementation, as well as compliance issues. She has proven success developing an employer value proposition, improving and implementing process and system reforms, developing and delivering training modules, and performing compliance audits.
Jamie has assisted the growth of mid-market firms through both organic as well as mergers and acquisitions. She has instituted Human Resource Information Systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, Succession Planning processes, online learning systems, made improvements to the performance management process and was responsible for the creation of a “Cheers to Peers” recognition program that enabled team members to give kudos to their co-workers. She also has experience in implementation of benefits savings strategies such as High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) and conversion of a fully insured plan to self-insured.
She has encouraged employee engagement and culture by spearheading the creation of employee-led committees in the areas of philanthropy, wellness and social activities. She served as the management team sponsor of these committees, which have created events such as summer and winter office Olympics, an annual philanthropic fundraising event which has raised over $13k for the people of Haiti, and $20k for STEM programs for Philadelphia School District Middle and High Schools, and a wellness program complete with biometric screening, personal health coaching and prize incentives. As Human Resource Manager at Burns Engineering, Jamie was instrumental in the company’s distinction as a “Best Firm to Work For” and a “Top Workplace.”
Jamie has been recognized by numerous professional organizations, including a nomination for the Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year Award. She was a recipient of the Temple University Fox School of Business, Department of HR Management HRM Internship Provider of the Year.
Jamie is a graduate of Penn State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She maintains close ties with her alma mater, serving as the President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association for six years, during which she led the creation of events including the Liberty Ball, an annual fundraiser in support of Penn State’s Dance Marathon benefiting pediatric cancer patients and their families.
