Sarah Burns serves as a senior employee benefits attorney on OneDigital’s Compliance Consulting team. She works with benefits advisors and employers on group benefits compliance issues with an eye towards prevention.
Before joining the OneDigital team, Sarah practiced law at a Boston firm focused on representing employees and other consumers in claims for health, disability, life, AD&D and long-term care benefits. In particular, she offers expert guidance on maintaining compliance under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) and other laws related to health and welfare benefits.
Burns received a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Boston College. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
