Houston McConnell

Houston McConnell, Director, Institutional Investments at OneDigital, leads the team responsible for overseeing investment strategy, manager research, and portfolio construction for the firm’s retirement and institutional clients. He guides the development of OneDigital’s institutional investment platform, shaping asset allocation frameworks and driving the investment process across defined contribution, defined benefit, foundation, and endowment portfolios.

Houston brings deep experience in multi‑asset investing and institutional portfolio design, helping ensure OneDigital’s platform reflects strong governance, disciplined research, and a forward‑looking approach to markets. His work spans evaluating investment managers, enhancing portfolio structures, and refining the tools and strategies used by advisors serving institutional plans.

He holds a B.A. in Economics with a Minor in Business from Rice University and is both a CFA and CAIA Charterholder. Houston also serves on the Board of Directors for the CFA Society Kansas City.

With more than ten years in the financial services industry, Houston previously worked on the Multi‑Asset Investment Team at American Century Investments and held institutional consulting and research roles at DeMarche Associates and Mariner.
