Nancy is Wealth Operations Manager and has been dedicated to helping clients navigate their financial journeys since 1995. She thrives on helping clients with complicated situations; the more complex, the better. Implementing new procedures to efficiently run the office and resolving problems to ensure clients have the best outcomes are her specialties. She acts as an advocate for clients when things do not go as planned, getting on the phone to find solutions so they do not have to. The office prides itself on always responding to clients, no matter how great or small their situation is, because each client is important.
Her career began when the bank she was working at asked someone in each branch to become licensed to sell mutual funds. At the time, she had just graduated with a degree in Psychology and had planned to take a year off before pursuing her Master's degree. However, a chance visit to a bank in Washington, DC, where she was working as a nanny, sparked a new passion in her. Once her term as a nanny ended, she decided to pursue a career in banking.
After spending seven years in a bank setting, Nancy realized that she wanted to develop closer relationships with clients and move away from transactional interactions. This led her to join AXA Advisors as an advisor. However, she soon discovered that her true passion lay in the behind-the-scenes work. She found her perfect fit in 2003 when she joined Financial Strategies Group to support Jay Hager. By taking on the processing and paperwork, she enables Jay to focus on learning and offering the best possible solutions to clients. She obtained her Series 7 Securities License in 2016 in order to take on a more active role in assisting clients, which frees Jay up to develop detailed financial plans and solutions.
Nancy grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, in a family that instilled in her a strong sense of loyalty and support. No matter how tough things got, they always had each other to lean on. This sense of belonging gave her the confidence to explore new opportunities, knowing she had a soft landing spot if needed.
She has been married to her husband, Gene, for 34 years, and they have three wonderful children. Melanie, 28, recently married Linden and lives about four hours away. Jonny, 24, served in the 82nd Airborne for three years, giving her more than a few grey hairs as he jumped out of airplanes. Their youngest, Alex, 21, is still figuring out his path but has a heart of gold and a gentle spirit. They also have a 2 1/2-year-old Chocolate Lab, Mylo, who they definitely spoil but keeps her on her toes, and she would not trade him for anything.
