About
Nick grew up in Barrington RI and graduated from Providence College with a major in Economics and started his insurance career in 1989 with American Mutual Insurance. In 1994 he founded Religious Benefit Services, an insurance agency dedicated to religious institutional clients throughout New England.
In 1998 he co-founded American Modular Corporation, an award winning commercial modular manufacturer and was recognized as a top 500 CEO under age 30 by Inc magazine. When the company was sold in 2004 Nick co-founded Alternative Risk Administrators, LLC., based in Fountain Hills, AZ, a national TPA and risk management company.
In 2010 Nick and partner Hank Weatherby acquired The Edgar Insurance Agency in Simsbury CT, renaming it Irongate Insurance Counselors. Under his direction the agency has grown over 1000% in total revenue and recently Irongate Insurance fully acquired Alternative Risk Administrators and folded the firm into their new home office based in Canton, CT. Nick also continues to act as consultative risk manager for various Fortune 5000 companies across the US, with his focus on modular manufacturing and distribution.
Nick enjoys working out daily at Valley Fitness in Unionville, is a faithful attendant at St. Patrick Church, and enjoys weekends at his home on Cape Cod. Nick and his wife, Colleen, have been married 28 years and have 3 wonderful children, Amalia, John and Nate and they have resided in Burlington, CT for the past 21 years.
